ICON OOP can convert any icon from SVG to PNG in your browser. Pick an icon, choose the size and colour you want, and download a transparent PNG. You can export at 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x resolution, or type an exact pixel size.
How to convert SVG to PNG
- Open the tool and choose an icon.
- Switch the download format to PNG and pick a resolution: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x or a custom pixel size.
- Press download. You get a transparent PNG ready for slides, documents or anywhere SVG is not accepted.
Why convert an icon to PNG?
SVG is the best format for websites, but PNG is still useful when:
- You are adding an icon to a PowerPoint or Google Slides deck.
- You need an image for a tool that does not accept SVG files, such as some email builders or social platforms.
- You want a quick thumbnail or document image.
The PNGs ICON OOP exports have a transparent background, so the icon sits cleanly on any colour.
Pick the right resolution
| Setting | Use it for |
|---|---|
| 1x | Small icon at its exact display size |
| 2x | Sharp on most modern and retina screens |
| 4x / 8x | Large display, print, or future-proofing |
| Custom px | An exact size your project requires |
A good rule: export a PNG larger than the size you will display it, so it stays crisp. The SVG vs PNG guide explains why.
Recolour before converting
You can set the icon’s colour before exporting the PNG, so the image arrives in your brand colour. Because a PNG cannot be recoloured with CSS afterwards, setting the colour first is the reliable way to get a coloured PNG. See changing icon colour.
Everything runs in your browser
The SVG to PNG conversion happens on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, which keeps it fast and private.
