What to send, and what to include
A correction to a guide
The most valuable message we get. Please include the page URL, the specific passage, and what is wrong. If it is a browser behaviour or specification detail, a link to the source helps us verify and fix it quickly.
Corrections are made on the page and the modified date updated. We do not quietly amend substantive errors; if something material was wrong, the page says so.
A missing or broken icon
Tell us the icon name, which set you expected it in, and what happened, whether it did not appear in search, rendered incorrectly, or failed to download. Include your browser and version.
One thing worth knowing: we do not draw icons. If an icon does not exist in any of the seven upstream collections, we cannot add it. The right place for a genuinely missing icon is a request on that project's own repository, and we are happy to point you at it.
A licensing question
Read the licensing guide first, as it covers the common cases in detail. If your situation is not addressed, describe what you want to do and which set the icon comes from.
We can explain what a licence says. We cannot give legal advice, and we will not tell you a marginal trademark use is safe. If a use matters commercially, that is a question for a lawyer rather than an icon site.
A bug or broken page
Include the URL, your browser and version, your operating system, and what you expected against what happened. A screenshot helps. If the tool failed rather than a content page, note whether you were searching, recolouring or downloading at the time.
A privacy or data request
Send it to the same address with "Privacy" in the subject. The privacy policy sets out what is collected and by whom, and the cookie policy covers cookies and consent. Note that the icon tool itself processes nothing: recolouring and conversion happen in your browser and no file is ever uploaded.
Advertising and partnerships
Advertising on this site is served through Google AdSense and we do not sell placements directly. We do not publish paid guest posts, sponsored guides or paid links, and messages offering them will not get a reply. This is not a policy we are flexible about, because the guides only have value if they are not for sale.
Things we are asked often
- Can you make an icon for me? No, we aggregate existing open source sets rather than drawing icons to order.
- Can I use the icons in my commercial project? Yes. See licensing for the detail on each set.
- Do you have an API? Not currently.
- Can I download a whole set at once? Not from the tool. Each upstream project publishes complete downloads and npm packages, which is the better route for bulk use.
- Why is my icon not changing colour? Usually because it is loaded through an img tag. This guide explains it.
