This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies ICON OOP uses, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy. By using this site you can accept or reject non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember things between visits or pages. Some are essential for a site to work; others are used for measurement or advertising. Similar technologies such as local storage are treated the same way in this policy.
How we ask for your consent
The first time you visit ICON OOP, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen. You can choose Accept all or Reject non-essential. Until you make a choice, no advertising or analytics cookies are activated. We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google’s advertising tools are told your choice and behave accordingly. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which makes the banner appear again.
In short
Essential storage is always on because the site cannot work without it. Advertising and analytics cookies are only switched on if you accept them.
The cookies and storage ICON OOP uses
1. Strictly necessary (always active)
These make the site function and remember your basic preferences. They do not track you and do not need consent.
| Name | Purpose | Stored |
|---|---|---|
| atlas.theme | Remembers light or dark mode | Your browser |
| atlas.favorites | Remembers your favourite icons | Your browser |
| iconoop.consent | Remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear | Your browser |
These are stored in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are not sent to us or anyone else.
2. Advertising (only with your consent)
ICON OOP is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. If you accept cookies, Google and its partners may set cookies to show ads, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see the same ad. Depending on your choice and location, ads may be personalised or non-personalised.
| Set by | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google AdSense | Serving ads, measuring performance, frequency capping, and (if allowed) ad personalisation |
Google’s use of cookies for advertising is governed by Google’s own policies. You can review them and manage your settings at Google’s partner sites page and Google Ads Settings.
3. Analytics (only with your consent)
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular, in aggregate. If used, these cookies are only activated if you accept them, and the data does not identify you personally.
Third-party content
The icon files and web fonts used by the tool load from public content delivery networks (such as jsDelivr and Google Fonts). These do not set advertising cookies, but the network providers receive standard technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests a file, as happens on any website. This is necessary for the tool to display icons.
How to control cookies
You have several options:
- Use our banner. Choose “Reject non-essential” to keep advertising and analytics cookies switched off.
- Change your choice. Clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Use your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Search your browser’s help for “cookies”.
- Opt out of personalised ads across the web at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
Blocking essential storage may stop the tool remembering your theme or favourites, but the site will still load.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the site or the law changes. The “last updated” date above shows the most recent revision.
